I was in attendance at the Cincinnati Reds Opening Day and my next game I had lined up was on Tuesday, April 1st. My Cincinnati Reds were quieted the first two nights to start the month of April.
Tuesday, Carson Spiers and the Cincinnati Reds took on veteran Nathan Eovaldi and the Texas Rangers. Eovaldi threw an amazing game against the Reds and only gave up 4 hits in the 9 shutout innings he served.
Carson Spiers went 6 innings giving up 3 hits, 1 ER, 2 BB and had 5 strikeouts in his bout vs the Rangers.
Elly De La Cruz went hitless in his 4 plate appeareances and was the final out of the ballgame.
The Reds also went scoreless in tonight’s game vs the Rangers. Tonight’s pitchers were Hunter Greene for the Reds and Jack Leiter for the Rangers.
Elly De La Cruz had 1 hit in his 4 plate appearances tonight. I have no doubt in my mind De La Cruz has MVP potential. Elly brings a type of energy to his game that stands out and is insanely unique. Elly’s skills of baseball comes along with earning quick respect from anyone who knows the game solely for his passion of the game.
The Cincinnati Reds play on the road in Milwaukee tomorrow night to start a 4-game series against the Brewers. Let’s hope the Reds bounce back well from this battle with the Rangers.
